Coimbatore's textile and apparel sector achieved record exports of $3.2 billion in FY2025, a 24% increase over the previous year, as global buyers accelerated their China+1 procurement strategies.
The city, known as the "Manchester of South India," now supplies to over 40 countries, with the United States (32%), European Union (28%), and Middle East (18%) being the top markets.
The Southern India Mills Association (SIMA) attributed the growth to Tamil Nadu government's ₹850 crore textile park in Tiruppur and aggressive trade missions in the EU and USA.
