Superstar Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj have officially confirmed their collaboration for a high-octane action thriller, tentatively referred to as "LCU" — Lokesh Cinematic Universe.

The announcement was made via a joint statement from Rajinikanth's production house and Kanagaraj's studio, sending Kollywood into a frenzy.

The film is expected to go on floors in mid-2025 with a massive budget rumoured to be in the ₹300 crore range, making it one of the biggest Tamil productions ever.

Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for Vikram, Kaithi and Master, has been building a connected cinematic universe. Rajinikanth's entry is expected to be a pivotal chapter.
