The Tamil Nadu government submitted a 200-page report to the Union Health Ministry on Monday, renewing its demand for a permanent exemption from the NEET examination for medical college admissions.
The report, prepared by a committee headed by former High Court judge AK Rajan, presents data showing that NEET has disproportionately affected students from rural areas and government schools.
According to the report, since NEET's implementation, admission of government school students to government medical colleges dropped from 62% to 34%.
